NDIS Funding and Participant Control
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the Australian Government's program to provide funding for people with disabilities to meet their individual needs. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is the government agency responsible for administering the NDIS.
When a person becomes a 'participant' in the NDIS, they are allocated an individual funding package based on their specific needs and requirements. This gives NDIS participants control over which service providers and supports they choose to use.
